We’re sure Executive Producer Steven Spielberg expects fans of TNT’s hit television series Falling Skies to feel a little rush of adrenaline when watching humans of the 2nd Mass battle it out with aliens in their effort to take back Earth. He is one of the world’s best producers of action and drama flicks, after all.
So as developers of the show’s companion app for the iPhone and Android, our Chaotic geniuses couldn’t help but make the app equally as exciting with the super awesome in-app 2nd Mass Defense augmented reality game.
Falling Skies fans can experience the battle as their favorite characters do by simply using their camera phone in this quick and fun shoot-em-up game, which uses the user’s actual surrounding as the game’s environment. As animated aliens start charging and shooting at the user, the user has to act quick to shoot them first to win. Because it’s an augmented reality game, the game will adapt to whatever environment the user is in allowing fans to have a full-fledged alien war wherever and whenever they want.
With completely new awesome and visually enhancing artwork, the Chaotic team optimized the app’s framework to fit perfectly with the iPhone and Droid user interfaces creating an app that delivers big for Falling Skies fans. Because the show began six months after the first alien attack, there’s a fair amount of prequel ground to cover, which viewers can do easily on their phone with the app’s access to the show’s exclusive web comic.
Fans can also read up on cast and character bios, access behind-the-scenes video and photography, catch up on the show with in-depth episode guides, view teasers of upcoming episodes, and even join in on the series’ Twitter conversation in the app’s community section. Yes, we thought of everything.
As a preferred partner of Microsoft, Chaotic Moon Studios also brought a new brand to the WP7 marketplace with the invasion of the TNT Falling Skies app.
Sure, the talented Steven Spielberg and forward-thinking TNT network may have brought this sci-fi drama to fans on their televisions. But it took the Chaotic Moon geniuses to bring it to their mobiles. Don’t ever forget—all your mobiles are belong to us.
